Monoscript is a screenplay reading application designed to let you import, read, annotate, and organize screenplay PDFs on your Apple devices.

In plain English: Monoscript does not upload your screenplay files, notes, or annotations to servers operated by us. Those materials are intended to remain on your device. However, when you purchase or use subscription entitlements, Apple and our subscription service provider, RevenueCat, process certain purchase and technical information as described below.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store the contents of your screenplay PDFs, notes, highlights, annotations, or other reading data on our own servers.

Monoscript does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or other personal profile information in order to use the core reading features.

We do not use advertising networks, behavioral advertising, or third-party analytics tools to track how you read, scroll through, or annotate screenplays.

2. Local Screenplay Files and Annotations

Screenplay files you import into Monoscript, together with notes, highlights, annotations, and related reading data, are stored locally by the app unless a future version of the app expressly states otherwise.

Monoscript does not use iCloud or CloudKit as a Monoscript-operated synchronization or storage service for your screenplay content.

Apple may separately provide device-level backup or file services. Those Apple services are controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by Monoscript. If you intentionally choose a file from iCloud Drive or another file provider, that provider's handling of the file is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

3. Purchases and Subscriptions

In-app purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive or store your full payment card number or other payment-card credentials.

Monoscript uses RevenueCat to help manage subscription and purchase entitlements. RevenueCat may process information associated with purchases and app use for the purpose of validating transactions, maintaining entitlements, and providing the subscription management service.

Depending on Apple's transaction data and the way the RevenueCat SDK is configured, information processed by RevenueCat may include an anonymous app user identifier, purchase or transaction information, Apple receipts or transaction identifiers, device type, operating system information, app version, and related technical or entitlement information.

RevenueCat is a service provider used by Monoscript for subscription infrastructure. RevenueCat does not process your screenplay text, screenplay PDF contents, notes, or annotations as part of that service.

4. How We Use Information

Information related to purchases and entitlements is used to:

We do not use your screenplay content, notes, or annotations for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

RevenueCat. RevenueCat provides subscription and entitlement management infrastructure. RevenueCat's handling of information is described in its privacy policy and service documentation.

6. Data Retention

We do not maintain a server-side copy of your screenplay files, notes, or annotations.

Purchase and entitlement information handled through Apple and RevenueCat may be retained according to their respective policies and legal obligations. We do not control the retention periods of those independent services.

7. Deletion

Because screenplay content and annotations are stored locally, you can generally remove them through Monoscript's own deletion controls or by removing the app and its local data, subject to normal operating-system and device-backup behavior.

If you need information associated with an App Store purchase, cancellation, or refund, those matters are primarily handled through Apple. RevenueCat may also retain information necessary to operate its service and meet legal obligations.

8. Children's Privacy

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to limit the information handled by Monoscript and to avoid transmitting your screenplay content to servers operated by us. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Responsibility for Backups

Because Monoscript is designed around local storage, you are responsible for maintaining any backups you need of your screenplay files, notes, and annotations. Monoscript does not promise that locally stored data will always be recoverable after device loss, damage, operating-system changes, app deletion, or other events.

11. International Use

Apple and RevenueCat may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing is governed by their respective policies and applicable law.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Monoscript changes or as legal requirements develop. The current version will be posted at this website with a revised “Last updated” date.
